European stocks open lower

Europe's main stock markets have fallen at the start of trading.

London's benchmark FTSE 100 index was down 0.13 per cent to 6,495.20 points at the open on Tuesday.

Frankfurt's DAX 30 lost 0.17 per cent to 7,970.83 points and in Paris the CAC 40 shed 0.34 per cent to 3,823.04.
