European stocks close higher

European stock markets have closed higher.

London's FTSE 100 index of top companies closed up 0.79 per cent at 5884.9 points on Tuesday.

In Frankfurt, the DAX 30 gained 0.70 per cent to 7377.76 points, while in Paris the CAC 40 rose 0.87 per cent to 3478.66 points.
