Aust shares close stronger

The Australian share market has closed higher, driven by Woodside Petroleum's windfall dividend to shareholders.

At the close on Tuesday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was 49.6 points, or 1.0 per cent, higher at 5,016.2, while the broader All Ordinaries index was up 47.2 points, or 0.95 per cent, at 5,002.6.

On the ASX 24, the June share price index futures contract was up 51 points at 5,010 with 25,372 contracts traded.
