Stocks to watch on the Australian stock exchange on Thursday, June 13:

JHX - JAMES HARDIE INDUSTRIES - down eight cents, or 0.83 per cent, at $9.57

Building materials maker James Hardie has appointed a senior executive from GE as its replacement for outgoing chief financial officer Russell Chenu.

LYC - LYNAS CORPORATION - down 1.5 cents, or 2.94 per cent, at 49.5 cents

Lynas is worried that it is giving away its rare earths products and has decided to draw a line in the sand for its own prices.

NCM - NEWCREST MINING - down 10 cents, or 0.83 per cent, at $11.93

Gold miner Newcrest has defended the timing of its major restructure announcement and says it has not breached any share market rules.

TSE - TRANSFIELD SERVICES - down five cents, or 6.33 per cent, at 74 cents

Troubled construction and maintenance group Transfield Services has appointed a BHP executive as its new chief financial officer.

WES - WESFARMERS - down 63 cents, or 1.66 per cent, at $37.23

Target will shed 260 jobs from its Geelong head office and regional locations in another blow to Victoria's second biggest city.
