Building approvals fell 2.5% in June

Australian residential building approvals fell 2.5 per cent to 13,336 units in June.

This compares to an upwardly revised 13,683 units in May, seasonally adjusted.

In the year to June, building approvals were up 10.2 per cent, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) said on Tuesday.

Economists' forecasts had centred on a 14.6 per cent fall in approvals in June.
