BHP Billiton says it's on track to complete ore access at its Escondida copper mine in Chile in the June quarter.
In a statement the global miner said it was targeting significant growth in copper production at Escondida of 1.3 million tonnes in fiscal 2015.
BHP also said its Pampa Norte operation, also in Chile, would account for 24 per cent of BHP Billiton's copper production in fiscal 2011.
Production at its Antamina copper and zinc mine in the Peruvian Andes was within guidance for calendar year 2012.
