It's worth knowing a thing or two about Samsung's naming conventions within its Galaxy world before you attempt to make comparisons.

For smartphones, S means super-smart, Y is for young, and M means magical. Say what? More importantly, Plus means a mid-term upgrade, the equivalent to how the way Apple puts an S on the end of its autumnal iPhone.

For tablets and the lesser-sized touchscreens that we'll deign to call 'phablets', Tab indicates an entertainment-style device and Note a more serious product; the latter comes with S Pen, Samsung's term for a stylus.

Within are some of the best-selling smartphones on the planet – the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II – though there are plenty of other gems that fill a niche, or shrink a classic within Samsung's universe of smartphones and tablets.

So read on to find out what is the right Samsung Galaxy smartphone or tablet for you....
