Soccer legend Ronaldinho has lost a lucrative endorsement deal with Coca-Cola after appearing at a press conference with a can of Pepsi.
The Brazillian international was promptly dropped as a Coke ambassador after he appeared on Monday sipping from the arch-rival's can in front of the cameras, Fox Sports reports.
Coca-Cola executives were allegedly enraged by the 32-year-old's slip-up and ended his $760,000 endorsement deal.
A spokesman from the company told Brazilian newspaper O Estado de Sao Paulo it was only a matter of time before the star's contract would end.
"The fact that the player has appeared with a can of Pepsi was the straw that broke the camel's back," Coca Cola marketing chief Marcelo Pontes told the paper.
"The sponsorship had become embarrassing."
