Mirabela Nickel Limited (Mirabela) is an Australia-based company engaged in the business of production, development and exploration of mineral properties in Brazil. The Company’s principal asset is the 100%-owned Santa Rita nickel sulphide mine in Bahia, Brazil. The Santa Rita mine is located approximately 360 kilometres south-west of Salvador and approximately six kilometres from the town of Ipiau. The Company also has a portfolio of prospective nickel targets in Brazil, including an underground mineral resource at Santa Rita. As of December 31, 2012, Mirabela produced 19,253 tons of contained nickel in concentrate, 5,858 tons of contained copper in concentrate, and 335 tons of contained cobalt in concentrate. During 2012, the Company sold 19,367 tons of nickel concentrate. As at 31 December 2012, a total of 12.8 metric ton of ore had been mined from Reserves at an average nickel grade of 0.49%.
