Buru Energy Limited (Buru) is engaged in oil and gas exploration and production in the Canning Superbasin, in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Production at the Ungani Field commenced during the fiscal year ended June 30, 2012 (fiscal 2012). The Company also produces oil from the Blina and Sundown oil field complex contained within production licenses L6 and L8 in the Canning Superbasin. During fiscal 2012, it drilled the Valhalla-2, Pictor East-1, Ungani-1, Ungani-2 and Valhalla North-1 wells and deepened the Paradise-1 well. It also participated in the deepening of the Lawford-1 well during fiscal 2012. It commenced drilling operations at the Yulleroo-3 well in fiscal 2012. During fiscal 2012, Buru completed the Yulleroo three dimensional seismic survey and the Athos and Commodore two dimensional seismic surveys. In September 2012, it acquired an indirect 90% interest in Gujarat NRE Oil Limited. In October 2012, New Standard Energy Ltd sold its remaining interest in Buru.
