Bonuses for CEOs at 50 major US companies bounced back by a median of 30.5 percent in 2010, the Wall Street Journal has reported. This was the biggest gain in at least three years. Last week it was revealed that Goldman Sachs chief executive Lloyd Blankfein's total compensation, including a cash bonus, had been raised to US$19 million in 2010. His pay package includes a salary of US$600,000, a cash bonus of US$5.4 million and stock awards of $7.65 million for 2010. This was the first time he received a cash bonus since the global financial crisis hit in 2008 and despite the fact that there was a decline in the company's share price and profit.
